Family Caregivers grieve the loss of a loved one, if there is a medical issue, mental health issue, or some type of loss of a loved one.
Again, the caregiver is mourning their relationship with the loved one, and it may elicit loneliness, lack of companionship, etc.
Sometimes, a caregiver starts to feel resentful, if there isn’t any reward currency. These are all normal feelings. Please be good to you, and honor the emotions, and find some relief, in ways that are important to you. Sometimes, there are Caregiver Support Groups, particularly if your loved one is in a facility.
If you or someone you know is a family caregiver and can use support, call for an appointment at (603) 494-4175. We offer individual and group counseling or workshops.
